Venue and travel
The APrIGF will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank. The venue is right next to the Brisbane central business district. Information on how to get to the venue can be found on the Convention Centre website.
Taxi, rideshare and train services operate from Brisbane airport. Taxi and rideshare services cost around $35-$40 USD to the city and take around 20 minutes. Train tickets are approximately $15 USD and take about 40 minutes.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no trains from Brisbane airport to the city from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 August. Bus services will replace trains.For more information on train disruptions visit Airtrain Brisbane's website.
All visitors to Australia require a visa.
The Australian Government has a tool, which intending travellers can use to identify which visa is required by country of passport to attend a conference in Australia. You can use the visa tool here and select the option "attending a conference or expo", if the main purpose of your visit is attending APrIGF 2023.
You may be required to provide a confirmation of registration to the APrIGF 2023 and, where applicable, Fellowship acceptance letters.
Certain visa categories may attract a fee and processing times will vary.
We encourage attendees to apply for a visa as soon as possible after registering for the event. The APrIGF 2023 Secretariate and host are not able to intervene or provide further assistance with visas as these are handled independently by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
